ABOUT FEDERICO

Federico Ricci is a multi-award-winning Italian composer for film, television, documentaries, trailers, and other forms of entertainment production. His music spans a wide range of styles, from cinematic compositions to classical orchestral arrangements, and modern hybrid styles that incorporate electronic elements.

He has composed soundtracks for various Italian and international productions, including feature films, short films, and commercials.

AWARDS

Federico has garnered numerous awards at various international festivals, including the 'Independent Short Awards' in Los Angeles, where he won the the most prestigious award, the Platinum Award for Best Original Score.

He has also been recognized at the 'Oniros Film Festival Awards' in New York and the 'New York International Film Awards', where he received the award for Best Soundtrack. In 2025, he received the award at the 'Athens International Art Film Festival' for best original soundtrack.

Additionally, he earned an Honorable Mention for Best Score at the Los Angeles Film Awards (LAFA)', won Best Original Score twice at the 'Rome International Movie Awards', and was awarded Best Soundtrack at the 'Montreal Short Festivals'.

 

 

Breakthrough & International Collaborations

A turning point in his career came during the 2020/21 pandemic when he decided to start an Instagram channel to promote his music, receiving significant positive feedback from the audience. Thanks to the success of his Instagram channel, he began to form various collaborations with young, talented, and ambitious directors. The first of which came in 2021 when he wrote his first soundtrack as the main composer for the Australian short film 'Two’s a Lesson,' directed by the young and talented director Joshua Urquhart. The soundtrack won the 'Gothamite Film Awards for Best Original Score' and was nominated for Best Music at the 'Screen Power Film Festival'.

Meanwhile, in 2022, he worked on three feature films as a co-composer alongside the renowned Italian composer Vittorio Giannelli. Together, they created an elaborate orchestral Christmas soundtrack in the style of “Home Alone” for the feature film 'Save the Christmas' and for 'A Day with Santa.'

A few months later, they composed another soundtrack, this time with more dramedy tones, for the feature film 'Sherlock Santa.'

In November 2022, he wrote his first official trailer for the feature film 'Save the Christmas'.

In 2023, he continued his international collaborations, composing an emotional orchestral score for the Spanish short film 'La Escort' where minimalist piano style contrasted with a stirring orchestral style. A few months later, he wrote his most elaborate soundtrack for the Australian short film 'Ozmar' blending emotional cinematic style with ethnic sounds, incorporating voices and traditional instruments like the duduk, and even using classical music in various scenes of the feature film.The soundtrack was highly appreciated and won five awards, including 'The endependent Short Awards' in Los Angeles, where he won the most prestigious Platinum Award for Best Original Score.

In early 2024, he composed the soundtrack for the Spanish drama short film 'Carcoma' and for the horror short 'Anamnesis'.

In June of the same year, he wrote the score for the beautiful French short film 'Voleurs de Rêves' which won 4 awards for best original score included the prestigious awards at the Athens International Art Film Festival in 2025. The Short film has been selected into the Oscar and BAFTA qualifying festival 'Flickers' Rhode International Film Festival' out of 7050 + nominations from over 110 countries. 

Social Media & industry Influence

Alongside his work as a composer, he plays an important role on social media, primarily through his Instagram channel, where he is known as Federiccio and has nearly 40,000 followers. His reels are highly appreciated by the audience, amassing millions of views, and thanks to this success, many young composers have found—and continue to find—in him a significant source of inspiration .He has also collaborated with numerous renowned global brands such as Spitfire Audio, Waves, Orchestral Tools, Heavyiocity, Sonixinema, and others.
